Hi, I am Allison Rasnake and I have been married to my wonderful husband for over 25 years.
We have two teenagers that I homeschool, a boy Carson and a girl Georgia. I have a B.S. from
Freed-Hardeman University and before having kids I worked as an Interior Designer. I grew up
in Jackson, TN where I met Michael at North Jackson church of Christ. He was from Lebanon,
VA so we settled in East TN between both of our families. We first moved to Jonesborough, TN
and had our two kids. When our kids were little, ages six and four, Michael said, “I Guess we
have to take the kids to Disney”, like this is what is expected of parents. The funny thing is he
fell in love with Disney as much as I did. Now our family is a Disney Family and if you are a
Disney Family you know what I mean.
Now that my kids are teenagers we are becoming Universal people as well. If you have not
been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and you are a Harry Potter fan, you must go. It is
like you stepped into the movie. Also, Universal has some amazing rides if you like to get your
blood pumping. There is nothing like being on the ground and the Hulk ride shoots out of the
tunnel at the top of the incline and you hear the Hulk roar. If you have been to Universal you
know what I am talking about.
If you are the type of person who likes to scream on a roller coaster then SeaWorld and Busch
Gardens have some amazing ones. As I said before, my family loves a good roller coaster. As
you can tell I get very excited talking about theme parks. They have played a very big part in
developing memories of our family times together and our children growing up. It is our time to
get away from the real world and spend time together. We also enjoy a quiet vacation to the
beach. It is just great to spend time together. If you have teenagers you will understand that
when you are home you are all running around in different directions and you really don't spend
time together. When we travel together, we reconnect. We also like visiting other church families
when we are away from our home congregation.
Traveling is a very big part of my family's life and I love sharing our experiences and knowledge
with others. I would really enjoy helping your family plan a vacation because it truly makes me
happy and the memories really do last a lifetime.
